Stir-Fried Tofu & Peppers

Very few things beat a recipe that is easy to make, cheap, and delicious. This is one of those recipes. The best thing about this is that you can choose the kind of stir-fry you want! Make it spicy, sweet, savory, or creamy by choosing a Hoisin sauce that suits your preferences. I made this recipe with a spicy teriyaki sauce, but the options are endless for you!

Stir-Fried Tofu & Peppers

  • 14 oz extra firm tofu pressed drained and cubed
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ¼ cup Hoisin sauce any kind (we prefer spicy)
  • 2 tbsp peanut oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger minced
  • 2 large cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes dried
  • 1 red onion chopped
  • 2 red bell peppers chopped
  • 2 green bell peppers chopped


  • 2 cups brown rice cooked
  • Sriracha sauce
  • ¼ cup roasted cashews chopped
  • 1 cup green onions chopped


  • Combine the tofu, soy sauce, coconut sugar, sesame oil, and Hoisin sauce in a large bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the peanut oil over medium heat.
  • Add the ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, and red onion. Mix well and heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the tofu (with sauce) and bell peppers. Heat for 5-10 minutes, until peppers are soft.
  • Serve hot with brown rice. Garnish with green onions and Sriracha sauce. Enjoy!
