Cinco de Mayo is next week and I think we all need a reason to celebrate! Starting today and leading up to May 5th, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Mexican-inspired recipes. I’m going to start with my best, most favorite Pico de Gallo recipe (or as my husband calls it, Pico de Gone-o). This salsa is so easy to make and only needs a few basic ingredients. Let’s face it, you deserve fresh, homemade Pico de Gallo. You know you do.

Classic Pico de Gallo

A classic salsa dip featuring garlic, jalapeno, onion, cilantro, and lime ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Roma tomatoes diced
  • ½ cup white onion
  • ½ cup red onion
  • 1 jalapeno minced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 lime juiced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup cilantro chopped

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and let rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  • Serve with your favorite tortilla chips, tacos, or vegetables and enjoy!
